Update October 12, 2018: I have been working on getting this road built since funds were approved to do the work in 2014 and 2015. The problem is drainage, as no major work can be undertaken by the City under provincial rules until there is a place for drainage which can’t be directly into the Carp River. Major obstacles to getting a storm pond for drainage have been cleared over the summer. So I’ve been working with staff to get the engineering review (it’s critical to have it done right) move ahead quickly with the objective of having all city approvals done before Christmas. Then the design can be forwarded to the province, which reviews and provides a permit for storm water works in the Carp Valley, who have already been asked to do the approval as quickly as possible. This means that construction could start during the winter rather than July and the road opened sooner.
