Environment Canada: Special Weather Statement in Effect.
Snow forecasted to start near midnight tonight, amount 2-5 cm accumulation overnight. High minus 8C, low minus 8C and winds NW 10 km/h.
- Tuesday Dec 12 snow through the day with accumulations of 15 cm ending around midnight with lingering flurries into Wednesday. High minus 6C, low minus 10C and winds ENE 15 km/h gusting to 30 km/h causing local blowing snow.
Residents are advised to exercise patience and caution as roads and sidewalks may become slippery. Staff are monitoring weather forecasts and will be patrolling roads throughout the event.
- The Tuesday morning commute will be affected as a result of the overnight snow accumulation.
- Staff will be salting and plowing the priority roads, sidewalks, and winter cycling networks.
- We will deploy salting/sanding and plowing resources over the remainder of the transportation network as necessary as the weather or road conditions change.
