Glen Cairn United Church Oasis Program

When: Oct. 30, 7pm
Where: Glen Cairn United Church, 140 Abbey Hill Drive

Glen Cairn United Church will be introducing a new Community Outreach Program starting in early 2018. Senior’s typically face many life-altering transitions which often present daunting challenges involving financial, housing, health, legal or personal issues for which they have little information and experience.

Called prime time in kanata, the Program will offer “life coaching” for Seniors. On a personal,  one-on-one basis, qualified and trained coaches will work to identify and articulate the Senior’s particular issue, find relevant information and someone to help, and follow-up with the Senior to monitor success. The coaching will be confidential and free to all Seniors.

A program preview will be presented to the congregation, community support organizations and Seniors on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary of Glen Cairn United Church , 140 Abby Hill Drive in Kanata. As the issue of Power of Attorney for Financial and Personal Care was frequently raised by Seniors during focus groups, the meeting will highlight a presentation by Michael Laughton, Royal Bank of Canada, an expert on the subject of  Power of Attorney.
