Message from the WOCRC – councilling support is available

“I am reaching out on behalf of the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre, in light of the recent tragedy that has occurred in our community. We would like to ensure that our local schools and community agencies are aware that we are here and ready to support youth and families who may be in need of counselling services, resources, or referrals. Our team is equipped with professional counsellors and child and youth counsellors who have years of experience and work from a trauma informed approach.

If you are referring youth or families to our services, we ask (if possible) that clients share with us that they are reaching out in light of the recent tragedy so that we can streamline the urgency of the appointments and do our best to see them as soon as possible.

If you are looking for more information about our counselling services here is the direct website link: https://www.wocrc.ca/programs/counselling-services. For further information or to schedule an appointment please call 613-591-3686 and ask to speak to a counsellor.

In addition to scheduled appointments we do offer crisis walk-in appointments. Currently our walk-in appointments are scheduled as follows:

Monday: 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Tuesday-Friday*: 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
*No walk-in hours on Wednesdays

Additionally, if there is any other way we can support you, please feel free to be in touch and we can look at how we can adapt our services to better meet the needs of our community.”
