Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning
Tuesday, February 7, 2017
Flurries and snow this afternoon and overnight (up to 8cm)
- High winds originating from the east (gusting to over 60km/hr)
- Snow is predicted to change to a wintery mix of ice pellets/freezing rain and rain late Tuesday, continuing into Wednesday morning
- The type of precipitation may vary depending on temperature
- Temperatures are expected to rise above the freezing point overnight and plummet back down well below freezing through the day on Wednesday
Residents are advised to exercise patience and caution. Staff are monitoring weather forecasts and are patrolling roads and will continue to patrol roads throughout the event.
Staff are plowing and salting the priority road and sidewalk network and will continue to plow and salt overnight and throughout Wednesday, as required. We will deploy plowing resources over the remainder of the transportation network as necessary as the weather or road conditions change.
