1st Pedal Play Event a Big Success

My office helped to support this great initiative that took place on Saturday October 1st, 2016, starting at the Beaverbrook Community Centre. The event was brought to the Kanata North Community by the Kanata Beaverbrook Community Association, Sustain Kanata North, The Transportation Action Committee Kanata North (TACK) and Safer Roads Ottawa. It was an opportunity, for both young and old, to increase their knowledge and experience with cycling and cycling safety. This was the first year that the event took place and we had many participants. I look forward to the event again next year and hope to see an increase in the number of children and adults biking to and from school or work.

Thank you to the wonderful team of volunteers who helped make Pedal Play a big success. A special thank you to the members of the organizing committee, Natasha D’Souza, Monna-Leigh McElveny, Julie Gourley, Neil Thomson and Karrie Turner who worked tirelessly on planning the event to bring it from concept to reality.
