Join me on October 1st, 10 am – 3:30pm (Staggered departure times 10am – 1pm), for the Pedal Play Kanata-North Mobile Bike Rodeo. This event brought to you by the Kanata Beaverbrook Community Association, with support from Envirocentre’s Sustain Kanata North project, the Transportation Action Committee Kanata North and Safer Roads Ottawa, is an opportunity for cyclists of all ages to increase their knowledge and experience with cycling and cycling safety. Participants of all ages will cycle a predetermined route through Beaverbrook and Kanata Lakes (children accompanied by their parents), participate in interactive activity stations located along the route, as well as have a chance to win prizes. Safer Roads Ottawa will check all bikes for safety equipment and ensure helmets are worn correctly. For more information and to register, visit pedalplay.wordpress.com. Watch for updates on the Pedal Play website.
If you are interested in volunteering on Rodeo Day as a cyclist guide or at the stations, please email Kerry.Meyer@Ottawa.ca, with your contact information and level of cycling expertise (people with no cycling experience are also welcome). This is a great opportunity for students to earn your volunteer hours.
