You are invited to a community meeting, which I’ve organized for users of the 60, 64 and 68 routes to discuss their issues with the service they are receiving since changes were introduced at the end of December. Pat Scrimgeour, OC Transpo Assistant General Manager of Customer Systems & Planning, and Troy Charter, Assistant General Manager of Transit Operations, will present information on the function of these revised routes, will respond to concerns submitted by residents regarding the impact of the service changes and answer resident questions.
Date: Tuesday, February 3, 2015
Time: 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Location: Richcraft Recreation Complex Kanata, Minto Room, 4101 Innovation Drive, Kanata
The revised routes resulted from the need to provide service to a new area in the community that formerly had no transit service. Since no budget had been provided for new routes OC Transpo removed a portion of the former 60 route in Morgan’s Grant and a portion of the former 68 route in Kanata Lakes and created a new route 64 to serve the areas removed as well as the new area needing service. Without additional funding the bus routes in the former 60 and 68 routes were spread among the 3 services, resulting in longer waits between buses on all routes. There have been many complaints about the service on the #60, #64 and #68 and OC Transpo will be providing information on their investigation of them. Residents are encouraged to offer suggestions to help resolve their concerns as soon as possible.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, please email me (Marianne.Wilkinson@ottawa.ca) and she will ensure that OC Transpo receives your comments in advance of the community meeting.
