Celebrating 20 years 2013 marks the 20th year of Cleaning the Capital. Established in 1994, Cleaning the Capital combines corporate sponsorship with resident engagement to provide individuals and organizations with an opportunity to contribute to the cleanliness of our city. Since the program’s inception, over 856,000 volunteers have participated in 13,100 cleanup projects throughout the city. As a result, an estimated 1.48M kilograms of waste have been removed from our public spaces by participating individuals, student groups, community associations, businesses, friends and families.

Let’s make 2013, our campaign’s 20th year, our most successful year to date!
