In recognition of the late Louis Turner’s contributions to our community, the City has been asked to name a new park at 1190 Second Line Road as “Louis Turner Park.” Mr. Turner is remembered for starting the first youth hockey team in the former March Township in the early 1960s, called the Kanata Chiefs and later the Kanata Iroquois. He was a dedicated coach, manager, chauffeur, and of course mentor to young, aspiring hockey players.
